Cozy lounge with fireplace: I felt like I was in my own personal library, surrounded by warmth and the crackling of the fire, as I immersed myself in a captivating book.
No restaurant.

The cozy lounge with the fireplace was perfect for reading a book. The location in the heart of the city made my stay unforgettable. The natural park surrounding the convent was a peaceful oasis with beautiful views at sunset.
Because who doesn't love being told to leave and come back later for check-in? Such great customer service!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Convento Da Provenca in Southern Portugal. The location of this hotel is absolutely stunning, nestled amongst a big garden filled with ancient olive trees. The restored monastery is a sight to behold, with beautifully preserved history and even a 2000-year-old olive tree on the grounds. The rooms are incredibly spacious and the common areas are tastefully decorated with a focus on Middle Age style and tools. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally helpful and friendly, making us feel like we were visiting family rather than guests. The breakfast was a highlight, with delicious and nutritious local produce and the most amazing crunchy bread. it was a perfect place to rest and recharge before our flight home.
It was all superb! 🌟

This hotel is a hidden gem! The attention to detail is impeccable, from the beautifully decorated rooms with their amazing views of the valley, to the well-maintained outdoor areas with the ancient monastery ruins. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The breakfast is a highlight, with the freshest orange juice and a range of delicious options. It's also a great value for money, considering the level of service and the stunning location.
All was perfect, nothing to improve!

We were on a 2 week cycling trip that we booked entirely through Booked.net, and this was by far our favorite place. The staff were very kind and helpful, the rooms were simple yet very peaceful and the hotel grounds were wonderful. At night we opened our windows and the sounds of rural Portugal were delightful.

Excellent reception and well converted building. Good facilities.
Sometimes it would be nice to have breakfast before 9am. There was a small samll of stale smoke in the room, not allowed now but from the past.

Beautiful and peaceful convent. Big rooms! The pool was really nice, the decoration of the convent was cozy. Had a room with ping-pong and games and a room with children toys. D. Fatima can make you lunch or dinner if you want to, and it's really good homemade food, our daughter had lunch everyday and it was a plus in our stay! The water is also really good!!!! We had the pleasure of talking to the owners and they were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, but good, the funniest part was you did your own orange juice.... the best juice ever!! Good location, 5km from Portalegre and it's near Marvão... beautiful village in the top of the hill. 'The only place in Portugal where you can see an eagle from his back'... taught me the mother of the owner! :)
Just think the breakfast could have some regional products, for example, cheese and 'chouriços' from Alentejo. And maybe some traditional cakes too.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways. the beautifully restored monastery is a sight to behold - full of history and tranquillity. The communal areas, such as the lounge with its games of chess and suits of armour, really added to the unique atmosphere. The outdoor areas, including the crystal clear swimming pool, were perfect for relaxation in the middle of nature. Our room had a nice view of the valley and the temperature control worked wonderfully. The breakfast was delicious, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice from the attached gardens. We also loved the view of the ruins from the breakfast area.
All was perfect - no complaints whatsoever!

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, making it convenient for exploring the charming narrow streets of Portalegre. The accommodations are fully equipped, providing all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The former monastery is surrounded by a lush forest, offering a serene and peaceful environment. The hotel offers a beautiful view of the mountains in the nature park, especially during sunset. Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the large outdoor pool located in the surrounding garden.
Steps to the rooms could be difficult for people with disabilities.

Beautiful hotel in a nice and tranquil countryside location. We stayed in a large but rather minimalistic room with a wonderful view. Very nice bathroom. Staff was very friendly. Delightful pool area. A place where you want stay a little longer.
On arrival (at noon) we asked if they had meals, and were told that they “could fix us something” if told in advance. Since we both got the feeling that they didn´t really serve dinner, and we didn´t want to be a nuisance, we decided to eat out. Later that evening when we got back from a rather boring dinner in a restaurant in Portalegre, we found another couple having what looked like a fantastically romantic meal on the terrace and got a bit disappointed that we missed out.
